San Benito Residential Chipping & Public Education

The Future of this Program Depends on Community Involvement!!

The San Benito Fire Safe Council led this very successful program since 2004 by hiring a contractor, with grant money awarded by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), and the United States Forest Service (USFS), to chip hazardous fuel cut by local residents.

This program has been funded solely by grant funding and provided to the residents of San Benito County free of charge and administered by the SBFSC Board and administrative coordinator.

The removal of brush from around structures in the wildland is a great weapon in developing a defensible space to protect homes from wildfire.  This program allows us to not only suggest what needs to be done, but also how we can help the homeowner accomplish their 100 foot defensible space needs and increase awareness of the wildfire problem in San Benito County!

The San Benito Fire Safe Council needs residents like you to bring this project back to the Community!!

Help us....

Promote Community Awareness -Provide Fire Safety Education - Implement & Fund Fuel Reduction Projects  - Work with Community Members to Make their Homes Fire Safe

PLEASE DO NOT STACK BRUSH ROADSIDE AS IT WILL NOT BE PICKED UP!
